These are the eighteen lanterns we bought. When we got to our hotel room, we had to open them all to see them all at once. They fold up like umbrellas - have bamboo ribs.
This is Tom taking the above photograph. I include this photo because you can see down the hall. There is the door to the bathroom and some of the sitting room which also held one of the televisions - we didn't watch it - and a sitting area for entertaining.

To give you an idea how small Hoi An is - this is the local gas station. The story about Tom's pose is that we had a photo theme throughout the honeymoon of taking "hero" photos. This is because our guide's name - Trung - means very loyal and also national hero.
This is Trung. This photo was taken in Halong Bay - in the very north of Vietnam. We were on a boat trip - as you can see it was misty and grey - we had a great time, thought - even if the visibility was "poor." I thought it looked terribly romantic.
